Council uses the phrase "Troop in Good Standing" to indicate whether or not a troop is meeting all of the requirements to continue to operate as an active troop. There are other requirements for specific activities, but these are the minimums just to be considered an active Girl Scout troop in our council.
- Previous year’s Troop Financial Report turned in if you are a returning troop
- 2 or more Adults in the Troop Leader role
- 2 or more Adults in the Treasurer role
- 1 or more Adult in the Troop Product Manager role
- All Adults have current Background Checks and appropriate training for role(s)
- 5 or more Girls from at least 2 separate households (Exception for troops that are graduating.)
- Have a troop bank account (with the Treasurers as your signers)
Why do we need to be a Troop in Good Standing?
How do we know if we're missing something?
Every Service Team member has access to the Active Troop Report from our council. That report lists every current member for every troop and also lists the current status of their background check and the completion dates for any required training. Reach out to your Service Team if you want more information.
